There’s not much obvious evidence of this transformation at first, at least from the street, where it’s the previous 2006 Caruso St John rework and refronting of the building in red quartzite and brown porphyry that still dominates, looking relatively unchanged. It was nicknamed the 'Brompton Boilers' for its uncompromising appearance (an early and inspired example of reuse). The project has apparently been the most significant intervention in the building since it first opened, when its frame and fabric were transported from South Kensington, where the building had previously been sited, showing exhibits from the 1851 Great Exhibition. These double as acoustic panels and look like they've escaped from the movie Yellow Submarine. These include huge, yellow and pink padded lettering announcing the Design gallery. AOC, with its bold use of form, colour and materials (111 of the latter according to AOC director Gill Lambert) seems made for the job, deploying myriad witty moves and clever detailing throughout, while incorporating super-graphic signage developed with Graphic Thought Facility. There is also a suite of new, well-equipped workshops and learning spaces, a purpose-built 515m² gallery for temporary exhibitions and a new shop and café. (‘It’s our version of a teenage bedroom,’ says Simpson). The latter group is also catered for in a dim space where, if they get bored, they can check their phones, look at a display charting the history of video games or interact with a virtual Young V&A built-in Minecraft. The installations are arranged across three new permanent galleries – Play, Imagine and Design – each designed for a different age group from babies and toddlers to teens. Further peppering everything are works by artists, designers and activists, including Virgil Abloh, Olafur Eliasson, Greta Thunberg, Bridget Riley, Miuccia Prada, Keith Haring, Issey Miyake, and David Hockney. These range from a 2300BC Syrian rattle and a suit of Japanese Samurai armour to a Microlino car, as well of course as the full nostalgic raft of cartoon/game/play characters from Peppa Pig, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Kermit the Frog to Barbie, Pokémon and Spongebob Squarepants. Many other gems from the National Childhood Collection also remain – from an impressive 18th-century Italian marionette theatre to ancient teddy bears – but the new curatorial and design approach also sees many of its 1,700 items pulled in from the 2.8 million-object collections of the V&A and beyond. ‘Oh yes we still have the gallery of doll's houses,’ says Philippa Simpson, V&A director of design, estate and public programme, laughing. But it hasn’t been about throwing the baby doll out with the bathwater. Now all of a sudden it Only shows up in a totally different state and with exact name search. Is there something I could do to send signals to Google to show that I am in Matthews, NC?Ģ months ago my listing quit showing up at all unless you typed exact business name What could possibly cause my listing or Google to do this? I have been without my listing for a few months now and have NO calls coming in from it. If you search Locksmith Independence, KS it shows up on the maps. If you search Locksmith Matthews, NC my listing does not show up at all. Keep in mind the GMB is in Matthews, NC All my service areas and the actual map show the correct areas. Now if I search my business name under the auto populate I see it with Independence, KS on the listing. I pretty much do not have any traffic, views or calls now. Posted about my SAB listing a few weeks ago about not showing up in search only when you entered the exact name.
